Playful City and Urban Design (3) As seen with the rise of Pokemon Go, the physical and digital world are coming together. Play can introduce neighbors, retell history, and deepen our sense of place. Students create original games and experiences with no programming required. Students use simple tools to create easy prototypes, including with branching phone trees, GPS treasure hunts, and sculptures made from old payphones. Class discussion considers implications for tourism, race relations, education, and community organizing. Meets with COMM-496 003.
