gain competency in a broad
range of technologies
used in the twenty-first
century workplace through
the use of hands-on learning.
Includes an introduction
to information systems
applications used in planning,
tracking, marketing, and
management control, including
spreadsheets, databases,
and web-based tools. The
course also provides the
conceptual foundations
in understanding technologies:
computer platforms of
hardware and software;
networking; and security.
Note:
This course is offered
online through classes
that take place synchronously
over the internet, as
well as online self-study
activities and individual
labs. Students must have
access to a computer (Windows
XP preferred) with a high-speed
internet connection and
a telephone for long distance
calling. Students are
required to be available
for online (virtual) classes from 6:45pm to 8:00pm
(Eastern) on the following dates: Tuesday May 13, Thursday May 15, Tuesday May 20,
Thursday May 22, Thursday May 29, Thursday Jun 05, Tuesday Jun 17 (exam), Thursday Jun 26
(full block from 5:30pm to 8:00pm).
