Addressing Human Trafficking in Thailand

This course will examine the theoretical framework for human rights and changing norms in addressing threats to human security in Thailand with particular emphasis on human trafficking. Although all course credits are earned by completion of coursework online through the university blackboard site for the class, students have the option to conduct fieldwork in Thailand with Prevent Human Trafficking, an NGO that conducts fieldwork and research in that country. The fieldwork will be facilitated by the faculty teaching the online course as well as other members of the organization's staff. Interviews and meetings in Thailand will be videotaped to be shown and discussed in the online class. FACE TO FACE CLASS ORIENTATION TO BE HELD DURING THE WEEK OF 6/16/08.
