Piaţa Revoluţiei Memorial.

The Romanian Revolution of 1989 was the most violent in the Eastern Bloc. While Ceauşescu was overthrown, other Communists led by Iliescu were able to take control of the government. Democratization has been a gradual process but real progress has been made.
