This page links to my lecture notes and course supplements. While I do what I can to make these notes accurate and complete, you are responsible to be a critical reader. These notes are under development; they are a draft rather than a final version.
My notes often have math and or graphics in them, so I will usually post them as Acrobat PDF files. You can read PDF files at any computer that has the most recent Acrobat Reader installed on it. If you get the full version of Acrobat (not just the Reader), you can also annotate these notes just as you would a printed version. I recommend this approach: it is very convenient, and it saves trees. Acrobat is available at low cost to students.
Generally computers in the labs have Acrobat Reader installed. Since Acrobat Reader is free from Adobe, you may want to install it on your home computer. To download the software and get instructions on how to install it, go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. Acrobat Reader is a big file (2Meg), so you will need to download it directly to your hard drive unless you have access to high capacity portable storage.
If you must have a hardcopy of my notes, it is best to download the PDF file before printing it. I have noticed occasional missing fonts when I try to print directly from a browser. You should also watch for other bugs in the browser plug-ins. Microsoft Internet Explorer does not correctly handle named destinations in PDF files. IE has other problems during PDF viewing. Use another browser (e.g., Opera or Netscape) instead when you are reading PDF files online.
