Aviary Life:
The term aviary refers to all things in flight.

In other words, aviary means BIRDS!


There are lots of different types of birds in the world, but we will be looking at two of those types:  the toucan and the duck.


 
Toucan Tidbits 
If you've ever seen a box of Froot Loops, then you have an idea of what a toucan looks like.  Toucans are birds that live in tropical areas, like rainforests, and are well-known for their long and colorful beaks.


 
 
 

"Ducky" facts about ducks!

Ducks are the largest group of waterfowl and also the most diverse.  There are hundreds of different species of ducks.  Some of the common characteristics held by ducks are their small body size, shorter necks, narrower and more pointed wings.

DID YOU KNOW...
That male and female ducks are colored differently?
 The male ducks have the brighter plumage, or feathers, of the two.
