Saul Newman

Saul Newman is Chair of the Department of Government in the School of Public Affairs at American University in Washington, DC. He received his Ph.D. in 1989 from the Department of Politics, Princeton University. Since then he has taught at American University and at Bar-Ilan University in Israel. His publications include Ethnoregional Conflict in Democracies as well as articles on nationalism, ethnic politics, political culture, and terrorism in Comparative Politics, World Politics, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Regional Politics and Policy, Politics and Policy and Nationalism and Ethnic Politics. His teaching interests at the undergraduate and graduate levels include, Comparative Politics, Nationalism, Ethnicity and Religion in Politics, Political Economy of Post-Industrial Society, Modernization and Political Development, Social and Political Revolutions, European Politics and Middle Eastern Politics.
