Auxiliary Services is an administrative Office of the Vice President of Finance and Treasurer and is responsible for the fiscal and operational management of the Retail Shops and Vending Services at American University. Retail Services available on campus include bookstore, banking, copy and postal services, hair care, dining and vending.
The Child Development Center serves the AU Community by providing an opportunity for the primary family caregiver to pursue a university education, supporting the family unit through child care for the university community, providing an educational experience for university students interested in young children and parenting, and offering an educational program for thirty children, ages 2 and a half to 6 years.
AU has a detailed emergency preparedness plan that provides notification instructions and operating procedures in the event of an emergency.
This site provides a central location to access links to emergency alerts and procedures, as well as university resources and policies relating to emergency preparedness.
The Office of Finance and Treasurer is responsible for the financial stewardship of the university. It also aims to deliver the best services possible to support the academic mission of the university.
The Office of Information Technology is the staff administrative function for American University, providing the central information technology and communications services and management to the AU community.

Office of University Architect is a group of design professionals managing the design and construction of the Campus. We consist of architects, planners, construction managers, construction coordinators, intern architects, landscape architects, interior designers, and space managers.
The Risk Management and Safety Services Office partners with the AU community to protect university assets and reduce financial, operational, technological, and reputational risks.
The office administers insurance, environmental, health, and safety needs; and assists departments in monitoring compliance with federal and local laws and regulations.
American University's shuttle services provide students, faculty, staff, and guests with a convenient means of traveling between campus, the Washington College of Law, and the Tenleytown Metro station.
The function of Treasury Operations with the Office of Finance & Treasurer is to manage the University's working capital and liquidity needs as well as facilitate the electronic transfer of funds to meet the University's daily financial obligations.
The university's Budget Office develops annual and long-range university budgets for Board of Trustees' approval and administers the budgets throughout the fiscal year. We aim to provide a direct linkage between the university's strategic plan goals and resource allocations and partner with various constituencies and school budget managers to ensure best practices in budget and financial management.
