RecycleMania is a national inter-campus recycling competition in which over 600 schools nationwide promote waste reduction activities to their campus communities in hopes of becoming the nation's top recycler.
Over an 8-week period schools report their recycling and trash data each week, which are then ranked in the following categories:
Highest recycling rate ("Grand Champion")
Largest amount of recyclables per capita ("Per Capita Classic")
Largest total amount of recyclables ("Gorilla")
Least trash per capita ("Waste Minimization")
Individual waste categories such as mixed paper, plastic, glass, food and organics, and e-waste
American University participates in RecycleMania to promote and bring awareness to our community on its commitment to sustainability and zero waste. Questions? Please contact email@example.com!
