It is our mission to create an eye-catching environment
which enhances living, learning, and working at
American University. We seek to enrich the lives
of those we serve through a safe, inviting, functional,
comfortable and beautiful campus. American University
is a diverse community located within Washington’s
exclusive Upper Northwest. We meet Washington’s
high expectations with the award-winning Arboretum
and Gardens at American University and constructing
attractive facilities with the most updated and
technologically equipped classrooms for our students
and faculty.
We take pride in our impressive scenery, part
of a Campus Master Plan originated by Fredrick
Law Olmsted, known as the “father of landscape
architecture in America”. We aim is to continue
in his footsteps by incorporating his original
ideals and inspirations in making American University
a premier learning environment.
