Self-Defense for Women

Self-Defense is a free four-day course for women that provides information, tactics, and considerations which may be useful for various types of abductive encounters perpetrated against women. The course is taught by certified Self-Defense instructors who work for the Department of Public Safety. To sign up for a section, please complete the web registration form at the bottom of this page or e-mail us at PublicSafetySelfDefense@american.edu.

Self-Defense for Men

Self-Defense for Men is a free four-day course for men that is designed to empower men to make different decisions when confronted with aggressive behavior. This course is also taught by certified Self-Defense for Men instructors who work for the Department of Public Safety. To sign up for a section, please complete the web registration form at the bottom of this page or e-mail us at PublicSafetySelfDefense@american.edu.
