On Tuesday, 07/08/2008, at approximately 10 p.m., two Sex Offenses occurred near campus in the 4200 block of Massachusetts Avenue, NW. These events happened within minutes of each other and within the same general location. The victims in both cases were AU students.

The following was reported to the Metropolitan Police Department: A male suspect grabbed the genital area of two females.

Description of Suspect:                             

Hispanic male, light complexion, approximately 160 pounds, and 5’ 05” tall. Suspect appears be in his late 20’s. Has been seen wearing a blue shirt (possibly polo style) and blue jeans.

• Avoid isolated and dark areas.

• If you are approached, take note of the person's appearance, clothing, and anything unusual that will help identify the individual.

The American University Department of Public Safety (AUDPS) notifies the campus community when crimes are reported to AUDPS or the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) which the University believes represent a continuing threat to its students or employees, in a manner consistent with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
