Departmental Complimentary Guest Parking Permits are provided to the University departments for distribution to the department’s guests. We ask that requests be submitted to Parking and Traffic Services 48 hours in advance at dpscustomerservice@american.edu. Please include the names of your guests, the dates of your event, and any other pertinent information.

Departments will be issued guest permits, in bulk, at the beginning of each semester.

Department Guest permits are Red, “Valid One Day Only” hangtags.

• These permits are valid only in the Nebraska Avenue Commuter Lot and Katzen Arts Center Garage at all times.

• To be valid, these permits require a Parking and Traffic Services stamp or security punch from Parking and Traffic Services.

Special Circumstances Guest Permits

• Department guests requiring parking accommodations will be issued a parking permit to meet their needs by Parking and Traffic Services.

• Only Parking and Traffic Services can issue a Special Circumstances Guest Permit

• Departments hosting a guest in need of parking accommodations must notify Parking and Traffic Services of the parking accommodation needed in advance of the guest’s visit.
