Tuition and Fee Information

Undergraduate students who register for 12 to 17 credit hours are charged for tuition at a flat full-time rate. Undergraduate students who register for fewer than 12 credit hours are charged tuition per credit hour based on the number of credit hours taken. Undergraduate students who register for more than 17 credit hours are charged the flat full-time tuition rate with an additional charge for each credit hour over 17.

Graduate (non-MBA) and non-degree students are charged for tuition on a per credit hour basis.

Full-time MBA students taking 12 to 17 credit hours are charged a flat rate tuition amount. If a student takes more than 17 credit hours, they are charged an additional amount for each credit hour over 17. Students taking less than 12 credit hours are charged per credit hour.

Washington College of Law students who register for 12 to 17 credit hours are charged for tuition at a flat full-time rate. Washington College of Law students who register for fewer than 12 credit hours are charged tuition per credit hour based on the number of credit hours taken. Washington College of Law students who register for more than 17 credit hours are charged the flat full-time tuition rate with an additional charge for each credit hour over 17.

The off-campus tuition rate differs from the rate for on-campus courses. However, full-time undergraduate students who register for courses both on and off campus are assessed tuition at the on-campus full-time rate.

Given the probable continuation of current economic conditions, as well as the need to continue to accelerate the academic development of the university, it is reasonable to expect that tuition and fee increases will be required each year in the future.

Students registering during the advanced registration with billing period, must pay the balance due on or before the due date as indicated on the bill. For the fall, students registering on or before July 10, 2009 are to pay the amount due by August 3, 2009. For the spring, students registering on or before December 4, 2009 are to pay the amount due by December 18, 2009.

Students registering after the advance registration period (direct registration) must pay the balance due, less expected financial aid, on the day they register.

Tuition Refund Insurance

Insurance coverage which would supplement the university's published refund policy is available to full-time students through the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP), and elective insurance plan sponsored by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. Under this plan, students who withdraw from classes at any time during the semester because of a personal medical illness or accident will receive a full tuition refund; students who withdraw due to a mental/nervous disorder will receive a 6o percent tuition refund. Housing charges are refunded on a prorated basis. The plan year is comprised of both fall and spring semesters of an academic year. Enrollment in the plan must occur prior to the first day of fall semester classes.
