Bike to Work Day
Celebrate Bike to Work Day with AhealthyU and the Office of Sustainability on Fri, May 19! After your ride, stop by the Quad in front of MGC from 8am – 10am for breakfast, giveaways, and raffle drawings for a Capital Bikeshare membership, bike accessories, and more! Present your helmet for entry. All riders provided with Jacobs Fitness Center shower passes; you must present your AU ID to access Jacobs. Register through the Washington Area Bicycle Association to take advantage of pit stops or to join a convoy on your ride. Be sure to list American University as your employer when you register!
If you store a bicycle on campus, please ensure that it is registered then with Public Safety. Registering your bike helps if your bike is ever lost or stolen. Registration also allows us to track how many people on campus are using bikes so we can provide enough racks and resources.
Capital Bikeshare has over 3000 bikes available throughout the city. Capital Bikeshare has a station conveniently located right across the street from Katzen Art Center and another station at the Washington College of Law in Tenleytown.
Bike Repair Stations
Stations include bike pumps, a bike mount, and maintenance tools. Proper bike maintenance will keep your bike running smoothly for a long time. Find stations at the following locations:
Letts/Anderson courtyard near the bike racks
Leonard Hall in the covered bike parking
School of International Service parking garage on terrace level
Spring Valley Building parking garage on level P1
Please report issues with the bike repair stations to 2fix.
