As a student participating in the American University (AU) Washington Mentorship program, you have the option of private educational loans for funding the cost of your attendance for the fall semester. Private student loans can be used for all or a portion of the cost. For your convenience, a list of potential lenders is provided in the quick links to the right. You are not required to use one of these lenders. This list is provided for comparison and information purposes only.

Once you matriculate as a degree student in the spring semester, you may be eligible for additional federal and institutional awards. If you have not already submitted your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE, please submit this as soon as possible so that the AU Financial Aid Office can provide you with an award letter for the spring semester.
