Since its founding in 1893, AU has relied on the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends to grow into the outstanding institution it is today. To recognize the commitment of our most loyal donors and the significant role they play in AU's past, present, and future, the AU Board of Trustees voted in May 2007 to establish the 1893 Society.

In appreciation of their generosity, members of the 1893 Society - who have been donors to AU for five or more consecutive years - will be highlighted in the annual Report of Gifts in American magazine and here, on the AnewAU Web site. They will also receive special invitations to events throughout the year. American University is truly grateful for the loyal support of our donors who have contributed to such a rich history and ensured a bright future.
