Neil Kerwin (AU president; SPA alum): This holiday season we're celebrating service and social responsibility. We're going to secure 100,000 hours of community service from members of the American University community.

Ebonie Smith (financial administrator, University Center Student Activities): I'm donating 100 hours to KIPP DC.

David Steib (assistant director, Public Interest, Washington College of Law): Twenty-four hours at the Family Court Self-Help Center

Bianca Lagrutta-Saenz (SIS student): I'm donating 25 hours to the Beekeeper Society.

The Davenport Coffee Lounge Staff: The Davenport pledges 150 hours.

Billy Walker (director of athletics and recreation, Athletics and Recreation): Living a life of service is important to me and my family personally, but also to set an example for our student athletes.

Mark Bergel (founder and executive director, A Wider Circle; CAS alum): It was the inspiration I got while being here watching so many students volunteer that led me to found A Wider Circle.

Angie Reese-Hawkins (CEO, YMCA of Metropolitan Washington; SOC alum): Providing service to othersóitís one of the most important ways to really make a difference in our community.

President Kerwin: The snowflakes that you see decorating the quadrangle, and this tree that you see next to me, are testimony to the service commitment we've made to our city and our region for the coming year.
