What is AhealthyU 4 the Holidays?

It's a 6 week program designed to help you enjoy the holidays in great health this year.  You'll find motivation and support for fitting in more physical activity, meeting nutrition goals, getting more sleep, avoiding weight gain, and handling the stress that can accompany this busy time.  There's something to help everyone end the year healthier than ever!

How does it work?

The goal is to practice at least 1 healthy activity a day in any of the 4 common health areas that are most often overlooked during the holiday season, and touch on all 4 throughout the program. 

                              Physical Activity | Healthy Eating | Quality Sleep | Stress Management

You'll earn 1 point for each healthy activity practiced.  We'll even give you a list of ideas to help you earn points (see link at bottom of page).  All individuals who earn 42 points over the course of 6 weeks will receive a prize.  Aim for at least 1 healthy activity from any of the above mentioned areas each day.  1 healthy activity = 1 point. 

You'll also have the option of participating in the Maintain Don't Gain Challenge.  Your weight will be measured at the time of registration and again at the completion of AhealthyU 4 the Holidays.  All individuals that stay within 4 pounds of their beginning weight will be eligible for an additional prize.

Monday, November 23  | 11-5 PM | McKinley 153

Tuesday, November 24 | 10-2 PM | McKinley 153

Wednesday, November 25 | 11-2 | McKinley 153

4 x4 Team Competition

Join with 3 other AhealthyU 4 the Holidays participants in 4 x 4 - the fun, friendly team competition.

Teams of 4 choose a team name and select a team captain, whose role is to:

     1.  Return the 4 x 4 team registration form to program coordinator.

     2.  Record each member's activities on the 4 x 4 log form and submit to program coordinator at the end of the 6 weeks.

For each team to successfully complete the 4 x 4 competition and be eligible for a chance at great prizes, every team member must:

     1.  Register as an individual for AhealthyU 4 the Holidays

     2.  Complete a minimum of 42 health activities in 42 days 

     3.  Be listed on the 4 x 4 log form

     4.  Report results each week to team captain

How do I get started?

Complete the registration form below and send via campus mail to Amy Farr, Human Resources, 20016-8054 or drop off in person to the AhealthyU office in McKinley 153 by November 20 to get everything you need for AhealthyU 4 the Holidays.
