Taking 10,000 steps per day is regarded as being the equivalent of getting in 30 minutes of exercise per day, which happens to be the Surgeon General's recommendation for American Adults. The following steppers averaged over 10,000 steps per day during Week 1 of the Pedometer Challenge:
