AhealthyU Bike to Work

bike ride

AhealthyU, the Office of Sustainability and the Office for Parking and Traffic Services invite you to celebrate national bike month with a biking workshop and a bike to work day breakfast! Biking is a fun, healthy, and eco-friendly way to get to work. By biking to work, you can:

  • Burn over 200 calories in 30 minutes
  • Save time by bypassing rush hour traffic

  • Reduce your risk of heart disease

  • Save money on car maintenance, fuel, and parking

  • Meet other cyclists at city-wide pit stops and at AU’s bike events

Whether you're a seasoned biker or just a beginner, we have resources and events to help make your Bike to Work Day a fun and worthwhile experience.

Before you start pedaling…

Join us for a special Everyday Biking Seminar Brown Bag Wellness Workshop:

In this workshop, Doug Smith from the Washington Area Bicycling Association, will highlight some of the basic points to follow before going on a ride, as well as what to do once you're on the bike. He will answer questions and ensure that individual riders feel prepared for Bike to Work Day. Office of Sustainability staff will also introduce resources around campus, such as bike fix-it stations and shower options.

•  Enter a RAFFLE for a Capital Bikeshare membership or a one month Rec Sports membership
