Center for North American Studies (CNAS) Welcomes Senior Fellows

CNAS IS PLEASED TO HOST FIVE senior fellows at AU this year.

Marcela Celorio

Marcela Celorio, a political officer at the Mexican Embassy in Washington, will be a CNAS senior fellow and the first diplomat in residence from Mexico at AU’s School of International Service (SIS). Celorio will lead a faculty seminar on North American issues.

Professor Maria Isabel Studer is the Research Director of the North American Commission for Labor Cooperation and will be at AU as a CNAS senior fellow. Studer is an adjunct professor at CIDE in Mexico.

 

Isidro Morales

Professor Isidro Morales, dean of the School of Social Sciences at the Universidad de las Américas in Puebla, Mexico, earned a Fulbright Fellowship to come to AU for the full academic year. As a CNAS senior fellow, he will research energy isues and teach an SIS course, Post-NAFTA North America, this fall.


Christopher Sands

Christopher Sands, senior associate with the Canada Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, is the fourth CNAS senior fellow. He will teach a course on Canadian politics and international economics at AU next spring.


Gustavo Vega

Professor Gustavo Vega of El Colegio de México will spend the spring 2006 semester teaching at AU as a CNAS senior fellow and an SIS visiting professor. A former visiting professor at Yale University, Vega has expertise in Mexican foreign economic policy and dispute settlement mechanisms in NAFTA.
