FOUNDERS' WEEK EVENTS
American University was incorporated on February 24, 1893 by a special act of Congress.
Each February, the undergraduate student government organizes programming to celebrate AU’s founding. This year, because of the proximity of the president’s inauguration and Founders’ Day events, the Founders’ Day Ball will be celebrated in conjunction with the president’s inaugural events. Information on the Inaugural Celebration and Founders’ Day Ball on February 8 is available online.
