E-Government

Peru has recently posted its Portal of the Peruvian State (Portal del Estado Peruano), which provides valuable information about the Peruvian government, business opportunities in Peru, and a list of links to the most important government-related web sites [50].  Most of these web sites offer information and allow for the submission of questions via e-mail, while some of them have features that allow the user to process documents online--this system is called Infranet.  It seems like e-government is in the beginning stage in Peru.

According to Prime Minister Roberto Daņino, the government Infranet will facilitate at least ten of the most common administrative procedures--such as getting birth certificates--through the Internet on a first phase.  After that, more procedures will be implemented online [51].
