Chie has long been a country with favorable foreign investment policies where the laws have been designed to promote no distinction between local or foreign firms. The main law that establishes the norms governing foreign direct investment is the 1974 foreign investment statute, known as DL (Decree Law) 600. DL 600.
Venture capitalists are also active in Chile . Some venture capital firms include Circulo.cl and Ventana Chile S.A. which are both geared toward IT firms.
The government has also set up funds such as the Telecommunications Development Fund designed to provide subsidies to private firms that commit to expanding telecommunication services to remote, underserviced areas of the country.
