IT Geographics
Presently the main concentration of IT activity within Chile can be found in the capital city, Santiago . This is where the majority of the population is located and by default, most of the major corporations have chosen this city as the location for their main operations.
Just outside of Santiago is the port city of Valparaiso . Recent efforts aim to establish this city as a center for business within Chile. Its ideal location on the coast with two of Chile 's main ports gives it logistical advantages as does its proximity to the capital. Other business centers in Chile include: Enea Business Park located next to the international airport, Curauma just outside Valparaiso and Ciudad Empresarial to the north of Santiago These centers appear to be mostly business driven and not intended to serve as IT incubators or research and development parks. There are two existing business incubators in Chile . One is at the University of Chile and is called Access Nova. The other, Octantis, is located at Adolfo Ibanez University .
