Austria
Size of Domestic IT Market
Executive Summary
Despite the slow growth in
ICT thus far, Austria’s recent focus on strengthening its ICT sector makes it a
hotbed for future growth and opportunities. Armed with an infrastructure and
new policies since 1999, Austria has seen growth in all areas of ICT, such as
the 82 percent increase in Internet users in 2003. With a GDP of approximately
$206.2 billion and a population of over eight million, Austria has the wealth
and workforce to be competitive in the global ICT sector.
