About the Author

Melissa L. Goodman is a native of Houston, Texas. She has studied in and traveled extensively through Western Europe. During these travels, she discovered the rich history and the beauty of Austria. Being in Austria and Germany helped her to connect with her heritage and family history. Her ancestors were leather workers and saddle makers for the royal Hapsburg family! She chose to research Austria for this project to better understand Austria’s current position in ICT and to assess its goals for the future.

Melissa received her B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She spent three years in San Diego, California, working in Marketing and Community Relations. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A.) with concentrations in Management of Global Information Technology (MoGIT) and International Corporate Management. She will complete her studies in May 2005.
