Overview

Current American University undergraduate students have the option to apply for admission to Kogod MS programs as BS/MS applicants while still enrolled in their undergraduate program.

Students interested in admission to a Kogod MS program as a BS/MS applicant must:

First meet with an undergraduate academic advisor to confirm that their degree plan is designed to best accommodate the BS/MS option, if admitted.
Have already completed 75 undergraduate credits at the time of application.
Complete the full Kogod graduate application process as outlined in the Application Guide, including submission of all official supplemental application materials according to deadlines.
Request an official copy of their AU transcript be sent to Kogod Admissions from AU Central, which can be done via the myAU Portal.

Specific requirements for certain MS programs are listed below. MS programs not noted here do not have special BS/MS requirements (these include the MS Real Estate and the MS Sustainability Management).

Please note that Kogod undergraduate students may request GMAT/GRE waiver consideration if they meet the minimum GPA requirements specified on their program's Application Checklist. Requests may be made by submitting the waiver request form located in the online application system after, at minimum, an online application has been initiated.

Program Requirements

MS Finance

Current Kogod undergraduate students:

3.3 GPA or higher
Minimum grade of B+ in ACCT-240, ACCT-241, and FIN-365

Current American University undergraduate students (non-Kogod majors):

3.3 GPA or higher
Minimum grade of B+ in STAT-202 or STAT-203 (or higher), ACCT-240, ECON-100 and ECON-200

MS Accounting & MS Taxation

Current Kogod undergraduate students:

3.3 GPA or higher
Minimum grade of B+ in ACCT-240, ACCT-241, and FIN-365

Current American University undergraduate students (non-Kogod majors):

3.3 GPA or higher
Minimum grade of B+ in STAT-202 or STAT-203 (or higher), ECON-100 and ECON-200
