Sheran Deng, MSA '09, came to Kogod after earning an undergraduate degree in business administration from Nanjing University of Finance and Economics in China.
Deng said that Kogod's location in D.C. allowed him to combine world-class business training with access to both the public and private sectors and international organizations. His close relationship with some of his instructors was a highlight, too.
"The interactive environment helped to broaden my horizons," he said. "A lot of good ideas are sparked during casual conversations."
Deng is now employed at The World Bank as a Treasury Analyst in the area of Counterpart Risks Management, actively monitoring and managing credit risk for capital market transactions.
In the future, Deng hopes to return to graduate school and earn a doctoral degree in Accounting, with the end goal of becoming a researcher or policymaker.
