Help Constantine Name His New Restaurant!

Constantine Stavropoulos (BSBA '87) is the owner of several restaurants in Washington, D.C., including Tryst, Open City, and The Diner. All have become a part of the D.C. landscape and have received numerous accolades for their atmosphere and food.

Through his business ventures, which he began more than 14 years ago, Constantine has become an active member of Think Local First, a community of locally-owned businesses that drive sustainable economic development.

Constantine is now opening his fourth restaurant, which will be located in Columbia Heights—and it needs a name!

The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to the new restaurant, and $30 gift certificates to EACH of the other three places, totaling $190 in gift certificates.

We are no longer accepting submissions. If you have any questions, please contact Kendra Green at

About the New Place

Just a few blocks from the Metro, the new restaurant will offer 24-hour diner fare, a barista bar, lounge area, and special dinner menu. The tasty, affordable food will have comfort and familiarity. The most important part? It's a place for everyone; something Columbia Heights residents can call their own.
