The mission of AU Center for Innovation the Capital at the Kogod School of Business is to develop and leverage innovation and entrepreneurship in training, application and research to catalyze a new generation of leaders inside and beyond the capital region.
We provide experiential opportunities for AU students in the areas of entrepreneurship, investing and consulting. To this end we are pleased to announce the launch of our newest program called EagleCorps.
Recognizing that not all students are interested in becoming an entrepreneur, the Center is sponsoring a business corps to expose interested individuals to the field of business consulting for startup and early stage businesses across diverse sectors. Students will apply their skills to small businesses from across the nation’s capital. In this role students will identify up to four deliverables per business and engage in regular client meetings and business research for at least six weeks. Selected students will participate in orientation and training sessions run by AUCIC.
Students who wish to apply should have an interest in consulting and some experience (or coursework) in business, finance and/or marketing. Specific skills desired include ability to work autonomously, solid verbal and written communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, minimal math and business understanding and willingness to work off campus. Preference will be given to students who are at least 20 years old.
Students may receive stipends and/or academic credit for their participation. For more information please email Melissa L. Bradley at Bradley@american.edu.
