Bonnie Auslander has worn two hats as a writer and as a teacher of writing for many years. She has taught managerial communications to MBA students at Duke University and to undergraduates at Cornell University as well as topics ranging from journalism to poetry at a variety of other institutions. Her clients in the areas of marketing and PR have come from both the nonprofit and corporate sector, including Mazda Motor Europe. She also writes and airs commentaries for public radio's Living on Earth. She has lived in France, Germany, and Bangladesh, and has traveled to Japan and much of Europe. She holds a BA in history from Wesleyan University and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, is married to a scientist, Jon Padgham, and is mother to violinist Nina, 7, and train-obsessed Milo, 4.
