Nancy Sachs teaches courses in business communications at American University's Kogod School of Business. She has more than 30 years of professional communications experience in the public and private sectors.
In her positions as Special Adviser at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Media Director at the Federal Trade Commission, she developed award-winning national multimedia campaigns on a wide array of public policy issues. In addition, she collaborated with Fortune 500 companies (such as American Express, McDonald's, and Procter & Gamble) and other government and nonprofit organizations to develop high-visibility projects on issues ranging from public safety to personal finances. Prior to that, she worked in the print and broadcast news industry, including WETA public television.
Professor Sachs holds master's degrees from both the University of Chicago and Case Western Reserve University and is certified to teach English to non-native English speakers. She currently consults with international clients on business communications skills. Professor Sachs began teaching at American University in 2005 and received an award for outstanding teaching.
