The Kogod Center for Career Development encourages all MBA and MS students to take advantage of the various affinity career fairs offered throughout the fall semester. These are great opportunities to network with employers throughout the country as well as gain practical knowledge regarding the industries and career fields in which you are interested.
The KCCD will offer Career Expo registration reimbursement for students per the following guidelines. Travel reimbursement will also be offered in some cases. For students interested in attending the full conference, please note that reimbursement will only cover the Career Expo portion of the conference. Reimbursement will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
To ensure you maximize the return on your investment of time, class absences, and travel costs, review each conference website carefully. Where is the greatest concentration of target employers? Are there conference speakers of great interest to you?
Reimbursement Policy and Procedure
-
Students should visit the student registration links above to register for the Career Expo only or Conference, depending on preference.
-
For the Net Impact and NAWMBA Conferences, students should first pay for club membership. Club membership entitles students to a discounted conference rate. Both the club membership fee and discounted rate it provides will be reimbursed by the KCCD.

Jennifer Murphy will confirm with students whether or not they are eligible for reimbursement based on their sign-up order (and club officer status where applicable).

Tips for Students to Maximize Attendance
-
Review the website for the conference carefully. Research companies attending the fair to determine your targets.
-
In some cases, including NBMBAA & NSHMBA, there are pre-conference job/internship boards. Be sure to upload your resume so that employers can pre-screen you as a candidate and invite you to interviews and/or meetings prior to the start of the conference. If you do this, you might not have to wait in lines at the fair to speak with employers.
