U.S. Agency for International Development Office of Inspector General - Office of Investigations Information Session (Updated 2/1/13)
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Wednesday, February 6 (2013), The Gianni Lounge (Mary Graydon Conference Room 200)
The Career Center will host the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of Inspector General for an information session on Wednesday, February 6, 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in MGC 200.
The USAID's Office of Inspector General (OIG) - Office of Investigations is currently seeking applicants for unpaid internships in the summer and fall of 2013.
Interns with the Office of Investigations will work side by side with a team of special agents and analysts responsible for investigating and protecting American investments in foreign assistance and development programs. While engaging with our office and its efforts to investigate fraud, waste, and abuse into USAID programs, interns will learn how the US conducts development assistance around the world, as well as the effects of errant programs on policy and coordination. Interns will directly support OIG special agents and analysts as they look into allegations of fraud or corruption in a wide variety of USAID projects and Agency operations, while receiving valuable training on how to prevent and recognize fraud in international development programs.
This work may translate into the opportunity to help develop reports and other materials for Congress and other senior Executive Branch officials. Interns will also have the opportunity to interact with members of the OIG team and the development community from around the world and experience how such differences may impact our work. In addition to this operational support, duties will include research and analysis of disparate cases, imparting valuable insight into how the OIG executes its oversight mission and the inner mechanisms of development and governmental interaction.
This is an internship for someone with a passion for development, law enforcement, or international affairs who is willing to put forth the hard work for a valuable experience.
