About the Peer Consultants

The Kogod Center for Career Development's Peer Consultants meet with undergraduate students to assist with resumes, cover letters, and utilizing CareerSource. PCs hold scheduled appointments from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 15 minute walk-in appointments from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Kevin Collins

Kevin Collins is a senior in the Kogod School of Business pursuing a BSBA with specializations in Finance and Information Systems Technology. Kevin has a mix of public and private experience through his summer internships within the District of Columbia. Most recently, Kevin completed an internship with KPMG's Risk Management consulting practice in New York City, focusing on IT Audit reports for financial services clients. Outside of work and classes, Kevin participates in Kogod's 1955 leadership club, where he assists with prospective student programs. In his free time, Kevin enjoys practicing with American University's Men's Club Ultimate Frisbee team.

Brandon Petillo

Brandon Petillo is a senior in Kogod pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a minor in Economics. He spent the past academic year studying abroad in London at The London School of Economics. Aside from challenging coursework, Brandon played rugby for the LSE and was able to frequently travel throughout Europe; his favorite trip was to Rome, Italy. Since a service trip to Ghana taken previously, and now studying abroad in London, Brandon has developed a strong interest in the relationship between financial markets and their impact on international economic development. This summer, Brandon interned at Oppenheimer & Co. in Manhattan, specifically in their Equity Capital Markets division. He looks forward to this exciting opportunity, and bringing all of his expertise to KSB students to help them accomplish their future goals.

Savanna Rovira

Savanna Rovira is a three-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and International Studies. Savanna is passionate in business and has held a variety of internships in Washington, DC and New York. She has experience in finance, technology, marketing, and politics, but favors consulting as it gives her the chance to combine each field and use it in day-to-day work. She interned at Deloitte Consulting last summer, and will be starting as a full-time Federal Analyst after graduating this spring. She is excited to inspire others to reach for their highest goals and start their careers off on the right foot.

Kevin Shankar

Kevin Shankar is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Economics and minoring in International Relations. A local from Columbia, Maryland, Kevin spent the past year living and traveling in Europe while studying at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has a diverse set of interests and enjoys finding new and exciting opportunities as reflected in his experiences having interned in market research at a small media firm, public policy at the House of Representatives, lobbying at Patton Boggs LLP, and most recently investment consulting at Cambridge Associates LLC. Kevin is still trying to navigate his post-graduation options and continues to challenge himself in school and have a good time along the way. Kevin is eager to give back to the campus community by working with students to achieve their professional goals as a peer consultant.

Jasmine Simawang

Jasmine Simawang is a three-year honors student pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting. She has completed her 150 credit hours during this time as well. She is excited to be studying at AU because of the incredible opportunities that the Kogod School of Business has to offer its students. Jasmine is an honors student, serving as VP of Accounting for the Kogod Accounting Club and a Business 1.0 teaching assistant. Being an honors student allows Jasmine to continually challenge herself while both club e-board positions allow her to network, help bring opportunities to campus and give back to her community. This summer, she interned with Raffa and attended various externship programs with national and regional public accounting firms. Jasmine looks forward to working with students to help them accomplish their career goals at AU.
