January 9, 2009

Exterior Terrace facing Massachusetts Avenue is substantially complete, signage is posted.  Interior terrace level classrooms are ready for classes.  Audio Visual training was completed this week and the entire building is wireless ready.  Office space furniture will be fully installed by March.

December 30, 2008

On schedule to complete sidewalks and entrance of the exterior terrace facing Massachusetts Avenue this week.  AU Telecom is prepared for the fixed table connections once the tables are installed in the classrooms, which is scheduled for January 9.  Interior painting is nearing completion as well as ceramic tile work.

December 4, 2008

Exterior waterproofing is complete and pavers are scheduled to be installed next week.  Interior of building is quickly progressing with AU Telecom work continuing this week as well continued progression with interior painting and ceramic tile floors in the restrooms.  Carpet and stairwell tile installation is scheduled to begin next week.

November 21, 2008

Exterior of building facing Massachusetts Avenue construction is on-going, stairs are poured.  Perimeter exterior doors were installed this week.  Interior painting is ongoing and ceramic tile floor install is continuing in bathrooms.  The building heating system is on with adjustments ongoing.

November 7, 2008

Exterior of building stucco to be fully completed by mid-November and terrace site utilities, sidewalks, as well as curb and gutter installation nearing completion, site will be cleaned up next week.  Interior wall board work is substantially complete.

October 30, 2008

Exterior of building, terrace site utilities, sidewalks, and curb and gutter installation continued this week.  Interior updates include wall board - 1st & 2nd floor 100% complete; Terrace level 80% complete.  Additionally, the building heating system will be activated in early November and then perimeter exterior doors will be set.  AU Telecom has run wire throughout the building.  Last weekend, AU Family Weekend, alumni and parents toured the site.

October 10, 2008

Site landscape is in design.  Remaining stucco installation began this week as well as terrace site utilities including the sidewalks and curbs.  Interior wall board and hard ceilings are 95% complete on the 2nd floor, 80% complete on the 1st floor, and 30% complete on the Terrace level.  Tours for Alumni weekend are available on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25.

October 3, 2008

Interior construction including wall board and hard ceilings are 90% complete on the 1st floor, 60% complete on the 2nd floor, and 10% complete on the Terrace level.  Exterior construction facing Massachusetts Avenue is ongoing.

September 19, 2008

Window installation almost complete.  Exterior doors and site utility installation begins next week.  Significant amount of stucco installation complete on building exterior, Massachusetts Avenue side of the building remains to be completed.

August 28, 2008

Interior wall board and window installations began this week as well as exterior terrace facing Massachusetts Avenue.  Stucco installation was completed this week.  AU Telecom started installation.  Upcoming:  exterior doors and terrace site utilities and interior painting begins early October.

August 14, 2008

Continued stucco installation.  Fencing removed from the quad in front of the current Kogod building.

June 27, 2008

Inside the building, steam line installation is ongoing and the mains for the sprinkler system are being fabricated. The floor for the tiered classrooms was poured this week. The exterior stucco installation will begin next week.

June 13, 2008

Inside the building, the 1st and 2nd floor concrete pours were completed today. Exterior progress includes insulation installation and selection of stucco color selection.

May 15, 2008

Exterior progress includes the glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) steel is up on 3 sides of the building as well as the light gage framing on outside is now complete. Inside the building, 20% of the interior steam piping is complete. The interior walls are currently being laid out. The sprinkler work is scheduled to start at the end of May.

April 25, 2008

KSB is looking at computer options for the new Financial Services Lab and OUA is starting the furniture design and selection process. In the building, steel studs at exterior walls are being erected while the ductwork is being hung. The concrete wall at lower level and the 2nd floor will be poured next week.

April 11, 2008

Metal decking completed and workers began installation of studs at exterior wall and fabricating screen wall for roof top unit.

September 12, 2007

Remaining major building site demolition will be completed by Sept 14 and digging will shortly begin between KSB and the expansion for the infill building foundations.

August 7, 2007

The entire roof is expected to be removed by the end of today along with the first exterior building panel. By the end of this week the contractor expects to have most of the building panels down.

June 15, 2007

Selective demolition is complete and preconstruction meetings are scheduled. The bus shelter has been moved to Kay Lot for the duration of the project.

February 19, 2007

The first phase of selective demolition work was completed last week. Preparatory work for actual abatement work is ongoing. This week, access to building will be limited to hazmat abatement workers for the next month.

December 15, 2006

Preparation for the Kogod Building Expansion Begins!  The existing building structure, to which Kogod plans to expand, will no longer be in use as of January 1, 2007. No further classes or activities will be held in this building after this date. The University Bus Stop, currently in front of the existing structure, will be relocated to the Kay Spiritual Life Center parking lot for the duration of the construction project.The sidewalk in front of the structure will be fenced off to protect pedestrians from the construction site.
