- Bong Hwan Kim teaches introductory financial accounting. His research interests include the role of accounting in debt contracts and bank monitoring. His research has appeared in Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and presented in National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) meeting, American Finance Association (AFA) annual meeting, AAA annual meeting, and Financial Accounting and Reporting Section (FARS) annual meeting. Before joining the Kogod School of Business, Professor Kim was a Director in the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and a Deputy Director in the Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry, Korea. He also held positions as financial operations & planning manager at Dow Chemical Korea, Controller at Asia Acetyls (Joint Venture among Dow, BP and Samsung), and Credit Manager at Dow Chemical headquarters in Michigan. He also worked for UN.
