Catherine Irving

Associate Director, Programming and Student Activities Department of Management

As the Associate Director of Programming and Student Activities, Kate works closely with Kogod students to enhance their business and college experiences through experiential learning. The K-LAB (Kogod Leadership and Applied Business) is a uniquely Kogod experience. K-LAB focuses on providing opportunities for students to build on their curricular foundation through exposure to unique opportunities like the service learning Washington Initiative course, the Road Scholars alternative spring break Leadership Program, and opportunities to building leadership and community through Kogod clubs. It's programs like these that keep students inspired and leads to the creation of great business team members. Prior to Kogod, Kate worked as an English teacher and Guidance Counselor in the NYC public school system where her main focus was working with low-income, first generation students on their college search and applications. Planning and implementing college visits, working with students to build their resumes, helping families with the FAFSA and counseling students through high school was both very rewarding and challenging.
