- Professor Schrenk teaches courses on personal finance, personal wealth management, business finance, and international finance, including an online version of personal finance. His research interests are in executive compensation, corporate governance, real option valuation and capital structure. He has consulted for Fortune 500 firms, developing real option valuation models in energy and biotechnology.

Area of Expertise: Executive compensation, risk management, real options, financial ethics, personal finance, wealth management
Additional Information: Lawrence P. Schrenk received his PhD in finance from the University of Maryland–College Park in 2001. His research interests focus on corporate finance, including corporate policies (e.g., capital structure), incentive issues (e.g., managerial behavior, compensation, and agency problems), capital budgeting methodologies (e.g., real option analysis), and financial ethics. He has taught a variety of courses in economics and finance, including introductory finance and economics, corporate finance, investments, international finance, security valuation, risk management, and derivative securities. Most recently he has developed online versions of introductory finance and personal finance, as well as a course in personal wealth management to teach advanced money management techniques to students at American University's Kogod School of Business.
