Master of Science in Real Estate
The Master's degree in Real Estate (MSRE) program teaches students the fundamentals of the real estate industry, while providing a strong foundational understanding of commercial real estate. Graduates are well prepared to enter the job market in a variety of commercial real estate positions, in areas such as commercial development and investment banks, mortgage finance firms, international development organizations, property management, insurance companies, as well as, corporations, nonprofits, and government agencies. Courses are taught by Kogod tenured faculty and executives-in-residence, with diverse backgrounds within the industry.
Students pursuing a master's degree in commercial real estate will find many opportunities to network one-on-one with industry leaders, faculty, Kogod Center for Career Development staff, and Real Estate Advisory Council members. Additionally, students have the opportunity to join professional real estate associations, including NAIOP, Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Urban Land Institute (ULI), among others.
MSRE students interact with other business school students from across academic disciplines through the School's co-curricular programming.
Many prominent local Washington, DC area real estate developers and professionals are alumni of the program, and the school's benefactor, Robert Kogod, is the former Co-Chairman/Co-CEO of the Charles E. Smith Real Estate Company.
