Mark Shirman, founder of GlassHouse Technologies, serves as President and CEO. Mark has nearly twenty years of entrepreneurial experience in the IT services arena. He is responsible for building GlassHouse’s market leadership in IT infrastructure services, managing relationships with the investment community, driving strong partner relationships and setting the vision for the company's services development.
Before founding GlassHouse, Mark was executive vice president of corporate development and CTO at Convergent Group where he executed a combination of operational and marketing strategies that resulted in a successful public offering and the subsequent sale of the business to Schlumberger Corporation. In 1985, he launched a new breed IT consulting company called Innovative Information Systems Inc. (IISI) which was focused on emerging technologies and application development. Mark founded GlassHouse in 2001 when he saw the opportunity to deliver strong support services to an underserved part of the IT market – storage services. Mark saw this as an opportunity to create a business that focused on optimizing and client’s environment regardless of the products they buy, and GlassHouse has continued to maintain its vendor independence.
Glasshouse Technologies Inc. is the leading independent IT consulting and services firm designed to help businesses transform their IT infrastructure. From initial assessment and roadmap design, to full implementation and ongoing operational support, GlassHouse partners with clients to ensure business and IT delivery capabilities are completely aligned, leading to an environment that’s agile, compliant and cost-effective.
