The KLAB Case Hub is designed to provide opportunities for Kogod students to highlight business knowledge and skills in the capital region, nationally, and internationally. As a team, students will learn to sharpen their communication skills, presentation style, problem-solving techniques, professionalism, and leadership skills.
Students are selected for available case competitions through an application process to form a team. Preference will be given to those who have competed in the Kogod Case Competition previously. Once selected, they will work with KLAB staff, select faculty, Kogod Center for Career Development, and the Kogod Center for Business Communications to prepare for the competition. In most cases, KLAB will pay for at least the registration fee for competitions. Should a team place in a competition, travel expenses can also be reimbursed but will usually have to be paid by team members up front. Please consult with Michelle or Andrew about specific competitions or budgets you might have in mind.
Participating in a competition can be time consuming. As part of a Kogod team, you will be required to:
Meet with Michelle/Andrew in KLAB
Meet regularly with your team
Meet regularly with your faculty sponsor/team advisor (will be determined based on competition content)
Possibly miss class or other on campus activities due to travel and competition dates
Below are some of the Case Competitions Kogod students have participated in the past. Most opportunities will be highlighted in the Kogod Newsletters (BizUndergrad and KSB Bulletin) or CareerSource so be sure to check each week for more information and how to apply for these and other competitions.
