Hit the road with us for Spring Break!

Road Scholars is a spring break study tour that provides undergraduate students with a hands-on opportunity to experience business in the real world.

About Road Scholars

We are excited that you are considering Road Scholars as part of your experience in Kogod! We are confident that you will find this program valuable in both your pursuit of business education and future professional goals.

The Road Scholars program is an alternative spring break study tour that provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to experience business in the real world while earning academic credit (1 credit P/F is optional).

Past destinations have included San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, London, and most recently, Los Angeles, where students met with executives from top companies such as Coca-Cola, UPS, Lloyds, Mini Cooper, Starbucks, Nordstrom, American Apparel, Smashbox Cosmetics, Hilton, TV Guide, Delta Airlines, DisneyToon Studios, Chicago Board of Trade, U.S. Soccer Federation, Wells Fargo, Intel, Starbucks, Mattel, McDonald's, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Dr. Pepper-Snapple Group, American Airlines, and Boeing.

Program participants also have the opportunity to network with AU alumni from the local region and visit local attractions.

Road Scholars 2015: Los Angeles, CA

Program Fee
The program fee for Road Scholars Seattle will be $1,500. This includes the non-refundable $300 deposit due immediately after registration to secure your spot. Students who register by December 1 will receive a $300 discount. Final payment is due and non-refundable after January 16. Your program fee includes:

  • 10 corporate site visits in Los Angeles, including guided transportation to and from each company
    • Corporate site visits will include a variety of industries and interests in the business and entertainment field in Los Angeles
  • 7 nights at BLVD Hotel Hollywood
  • 7 Breakfasts (including drinks and gratuity)
  • Alumni Dinner (including drinks and gratuity)
  • Welcome Dinner (including drinks and gratuity)

Registration
Registration for the LA trip will be filled on a first-registered, first-deposited basis. In other words, your registration is not complete until your $300 non-refundable deposit is received at Mary Graydon Center 318. Once your registration is received, you will receive a payment form via email from klab@american.edu.
