AU PROCESS REFERRALS

Advisors can refer you to the key university offices such as AU Central or Student Accounts, that handle important services like tuition, billing, and financial aid.

You will hear from your academic advisor when it's time to transition into the next semester, as they will notify you about the courses being offered and the process and time frame for registration.

AU POLICY IMPLEMENTATION

Our office oversees and ensures that AU's academic regulations are communicated and understood by our students. Your advisor keeps you on track by monitoring your academic performance.

Please schedule an appointment with us if you have any questions about:
   Grades and GPA
   Graduation
   Academic calendar deadlines
   Adding courses
Refund time frames for dropping courses

Grades, GPA, and Graduation

Please note the grading scale and the required academic performance you must achieve in order to graduate. Grades are determined on a 4-point scale.

C+

Even though a "C" or better is a passing grade, you need to average a "B" or better because graduate students must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA. If you fall below a 3.0, your academic advisor will meet with you to discuss your circumstance and you will be placed on academic probation. Please note that any class taken pass/fail will not count towards your academic program.

Finally, should you find that you cannot complete a class due to extraordinary circumstances, you may discuss the option of taking an incomplete grade for the class with the professor. Incomplete grades are entirely at the discretion of the faculty member.

Should the professor agree to an incomplete, you have until the end of the next semester, to complete the outstanding work. If you do not complete the work by that time, you will automatically receive an "F" for the course.
