Celebrating Diversity Week

Diversity Week

The School of Communication in partnership with the Center for Diversity and Inclusion is proud to co-sponor "Share Your Story: Student Dialogues on Diversity and Inclusion 2013."

For several years, the Diversity Committee for the School of Communication has been very passionate about the role of diversity and inclusion at American University and we would like to further that freedom through recognizing different student voices in our community.

The week-long program will honor the diversity that American University celebrates each day. The events scheduled include panel lectures, workshops, and open discussions about issues/topics such as cisgender privilege, political affiliation, women in Islamic cultures, multi-cultural matters, veterans, and safe space. The week is dedicated to students, but faculty and staff are welcomed to attend events. The dialogue will continue on Twitter with hashtag #audiversitydialogue

The program begins with a student panel discussion: "Our Voices: Students Sharing Experiences at AU." The School of Communication will sponsor the event which will be held Monday, February 25 at 1:00 p.m in the Butler Boardroom. For a full listing of events, visit american.edu/soc/diversityweek
