Join us for the inaugural Graduate Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, August 26 from 12 pm-5 pm. Dress is casual. New students, current students, faculty, and staff are invited to sign up to be assigned into teams and discover clues around Kogod, campus, and DC! Students: Be sure to pick up your University Pass for Metro in advance.
Dress at Orientation - Many students ask about appropriate dress for orientation. There is no dress code for attire; however, students tend to wear business casual. Please keep in mind that this is the first time you will meet the Kogod faculty, staff, and administration. These individuals will be an integral part of your Kogod experience, as you will be working with them throughout your graduate career. Like in any new situation, it is important to make a good first impression (please avoid wearing t-shirts, sweatpants, or dressing too casual).
Parking and Transportation - You can park for free in the parking lots on campus during orientation. Read more about lot locations and permit information here. As of the first day of classes, a parking permit is required to park in most campus garages between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. There are also pay-as-you-go options. The AU Shuttle runs regularly from the Tenleytown-AU metro stop on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's red line and can get you to and from campus for orientation. Learn more about the AU shuttle here.
Confirm Your Attendance - Please take a moment to confirm your attendance and ensure we have the most up-to-date contact information for you by completing the form found here.
If you have questions or may have a conflict about attending orientation, please email Andrew Toczydlowski at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Kogod Graduate Student Peer Mentor Program
The Kogod Graduate Student Peer Mentor Program offers incoming students the opportunity to connect with a returning student in their program to answer any questions you may have during your first few months at Kogod, such as "Where should I buy my books?", "What's the difference between an international text and a domestic text?", or "Where's the best place to grab lunch between classes?".
Kogod peer mentors are current students who have been in Kogod at least a year and have volunteered to help welcome and assist you. Being matched with a peer mentor is optional. Should you decide to participate, you will receive a welcome email from your mentor before orientation. In addition, program participants are invited to events during the semester that will bring mentors and mentees together to network and learn from each others' experiences at Kogod.
If you would like to be matched with a peer mentor or have any questions, please click here and complete the form by Monday, August 7, at 12 p.m. Matches will be connected during that week.
