Finance and Real Estate Department

The Kogod School of Business Finance and Real Estate Department has a distinguished faculty comprised of some leading researchers in the field. In 2006, Advances in Financial Education Journal ranked Kogod 17th among the top 25 most influential institutions in Financial Education; and the Real Estate Economics Journal ranked Kogod 37th among the top 50 most influential institutions in Real Estate.

Finance
The Finance program makes use Kogod's Washington, D.C. location to invite leaders from local corporations, regulatory and government agencies to speak at Kogod. The school’s location also provides a wide range of challenging internship, co-op positions, and job opportunities for Kogod students.

Real Estate
The Kogod real estate program offers courses on residential and commercial real estate principles, finance, development, and law. It encourages students to participate in work study projects around the DC metro area. Kogod students have worked on mortgage securities and trading projects for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; on tenant improvements for the Charles E. Smith Companies; and have also been involved with the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. The combination of these educational and work opportunities helps prepare Kogod students to serve in leadership positions after graduation.
