4400 Massachusetts Avenue NW Washington, DC 20016 United StatesRepresenting a cornerstone of our society and the vast majority of American taxpayers, the middle class is made up of millions of working families in every region across the country.
In recent years, it has become more and more difficult for middle class Americans to maintain financial stability and support their families. Many have faced job losses or wage stagnation, and are struggling with the rising costs of health care and education while trying to protect their income and save for retirement. Creating opportunities for middle class families to achieve financial security will be crucial to our nation's growth and prosperity.
The Kogod Tax Center conducts research on how taxes affect the middle class and the financial goals long associated with stability, such as home-ownership, educating children and saving for retirement-and how tax policy could be implemented to ensure middle class, working families can build and protect income, access health care, save for retirement, and attain long-term financial stability.
